My story doesn't fit into a neat box. It's been messy, unpredictable, and full of sharp turns. But the part that shaped everything started in the mid-90s.
I grew up moving from place to place, never fully knowing what "home" meant. Life was unstable — more survival than adventure — until a foster family changed my direction completely and took me to Tanzania, East Africa.
We settled in Masama, a small village on the foothills of Kilimanjaro. No electricity. No running water. A language I didn't speak. So I learned. Life in the Chagga mountain communities taught me resilience, warmth, and the quiet strength found in everyday routines. Time spent with Maasai warriors taught me identity, tradition, and the importance of knowing where you come from.
Tanzania didn't just give me a home. It gave me direction — adaptability, curiosity, and a deep connection to the outdoors that never left.

As I got older, that instinct to explore only grew stronger. The mountains grounded me. Photography gave me a way to capture the world the way I felt it. And the outdoors became the one constant that made sense through every chapter.
Then, just before leaving for Basic Training in 2009, I met Dawn by chance. She showed me a different way to live: consistency, kindness, and belief. We've been together ever since. Married in 2016. Ten years in 2026. None of this — the miles, the mountains, the adventures, the site — would exist without her.

She's been patience when I had none, encouragement when I doubted myself, and strength when life felt heavy.
