The Route
🏔️ Route Character
The Cumbria Way is the Lake District in cross-section: quiet lanes out of Ulverston, the lakeshore at Coniston, the classic scenery of Great Langdale, the high crossing over Stake Pass into Borrowdale, then north past Skiddaw's flanks, across open moorland, and down the gentle river valleys into Carlisle.
It's gentler and quieter than the headline fells — a relaxed way to see the Lakes end to end.
