This is a short, dramatic ridge walk — steep climbs, sharp spines, and huge views across the Upper Dove Valley. Chrome Hill is the bigger, broader ridge; Parkhouse Hill is sharper, steeper, and more dramatic. Together they form one of the most distinctive landscapes in the Peak District.
The terrain is rugged: steep grassy slopes, limestone steps, narrow ridge sections, and exposed viewpoints. It's not technical, but it's a proper hillwalk — hands may be used for balance on Parkhouse Hill, and the descent is steep.
